Friends Getting Together
Several members have
become friends and use
some down time while at
Mardi Gras to get reaquainted.

KOE - A Fat Tuesday Tradtion
Mardi Gras' First Cyber-Based Marching Krewe

The KOE held its First Annual KOE Lundi Gras party in 1999 at Patout's Cajun
Cabin located at 501 Bourbon St.  The first KOE parade was on Fat Tuesday
1999 with a following of 20 wonderful people all dressed in some fashion of the
King-Elvis Presely.  At the time little did we know that the first cyber-based
Mardi Gras marching Krewe would grow by leaps and bounds, and yes,
experience some growing pains.  However, never fear, the KOE has become
even better than what was imagined back in 1998 and it's all due to the wonderful
people who have joined in the KOE membership.

In the early years most of the members opted for the 70's rock star look of white
polyester jumpsuits with bell bottoms and the cape. Sunglasses, sideburns and a
pompadour jet black wig were a must!  Anyone could join in on the fun as long
as they came in costume.

After the KOE parade in 2004, the KOE, which had been known as the Krewe of
Elvis had to give up its Elvis only look.  Now known only as the KOE, it
continues to support its members that love to parade dressed as the King
although the themes have taken on a broader interest not just the King but
including other wonderfully creative ideas.  Check out the Photos Page for
pictures of the creative costumes the members put together for the Fat Tuesday
KOE Parade.
